Many Years ago I saw My first Fell Pony
after seeing one owned by a  breeder of
Friesian horses .  I was instantly
captivated by their beauty and
Uniqueness  Finding out anything about
them was nearly impossible, as many of
the US breeders were just getting
started, and with less than 150 ponies in
North America at the time, it was not
easy to find  out much about them .
Over time and with  a lot of patience and
study , I was drawn to
Versatility: Fell ponies can do anything!
Ride on the trail, compete in shows, pull
a cart, jump...the list goes on.  All this
combined with their natural beauty and
hardiness.

Size: Fells have a top height of 14.0 HH,
perfect for small adults and children.  Yet
their build and structure allows them to
carry most any adult rider easily.

Attitude:  Fells are incredibly intelligent,
which allows them to train very easily.  It
is up to the trainer to teach them only
good things!

Heritage:  The breed is considered
endangered and the gene pool is small.
I  feel compelled to take part in their
preservation.
How We Raise Young
horses
-After Extensive
imprinting and then basic ground
training as sucklings, the
youngsters grow up in pastures
with other horsess so they are
socialized and understand the
pecking order, and can build
strong, sound bodies controlled
by a sane brain.. We believe in
preparing a horse for the long
haul, so we wait until they are
over three years old before we
bring them into the riding stable
to start them under saddle. We
train each horse as an individual,
incorporating physical and mental
preparedness with personality
considerations.
I heard a quote once that expressed the
sentiment "We are transformed  by what
we love." If this is true, what wonderful
attributes my animals offer to teach me.
Patience, gentleness, eagerness to please,
concern for others, and that true beauty
really does lie on the inside.

Alot of people have asked '"You must really like to take photos,
and whats with the Black and White ones?"  Thank you for taking
the time to view all of my photographs,  I am very passionate
about Photography, especially  Black and White Photography. I feel
it has the ability to stand out based on its power to communicate
rather then just its "color visual presentation".  In Black and White
Photos the composition, lighting, originality are all there for the eye
to behold. Black and White Photography is so emotional and
beautiful, I like to say It really makes you Look at "the art in the
photo".  Photography is so special,  It captures moments that will
be gone forever in an instant. And if you have a camera grab it the
next time your on your way to the barn, or when visiting someone
who is dear to you.  You will  be glad you did!   Thanks to all,

Dog's Purpose [from a  Childs  perspective]
Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year old Dog named Buddy . The dog's owners, Jim
his wife,  Joan  and their little girl,  Judith were all very attached to Buddy  and they were hoping for a
miracle.
I examined Buddy and found he was dying. I told the family we couldn't do anything for  Buddy and offered
to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.
As we made arrangements, Jim  and Joan told me they thought it would be good for little Judith  to observe
the procedure. They felt as though Judith might learn something from the experience.
The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Buddys  family surrounded him. Judith seemed so
calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that i wondered if she understood what was going on. Within a
few minutes, Buddy  slipped peacefully away.
The little girl seemed to accept Buddys transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a
while after Buddys  death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human
lives. Judith  who had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why."
Startled, we all turned to her. What came out of her mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more
comforting explanation.
She said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the
time and being nice, right?" The six-year-old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they
don't have to stay as long."
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply.  Speak kindly.

I'm only a horse, dear Master, but my heart is warm and true,

And I'm ready to work my hardest, for the pleasure of pleasing
you.

Good corn and hay and water are all that I wish to ask,

And a warm dry bed to rest on when I've finished my daily
task.

Don't strike me in needless anger if I'm slow to understand,

But encourage my drooping spirits with a gentle voice and
hand.

Finally, O my master, when my health and strength are gone -

When I'm getting old and feeble and my long life's work is
done -

Don't sell me to cruel owners to be slaved to my latest breath,

But grant me the untold blessing of a quick and painless death;

That, as you have always found me a patient and loyal friend,

The years of my faithful service may be crowned by a peaceful
end.

I plead in the name of the Savior,

Who cares when the sparrows fall,

Who was born in a lowly stable and knows and loves us all!

- (Author Unknown)

The first horses were made of sea foam.

They rode their waves to the beaches
Then broke loose and dashed for the shore.

Wild horses, raging with pride–
Look how much of the untamed sea

Is within them still.

The Fell Pony Story....
"The simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of
a second, of the significance of an event as well
as the precise organization of forms which
gives that event its proper expression... . In
photography, the smallest thing can be a great
subject. The little human detail can become a
leitmotif." — Henri Cartier-Bresson[7]
I felt like lying down by the side of the trail
and remembering it all. The woods do that to
you, they always look familiar, long lost, like
the face of a long-dead relative, like an old
dream, like a piece of forgotten song drifting
across the water, most of all like golden
eternities of past childhood or past manhood
and all the living and the dying and the
heartbreak that went on a million years ago
and the clouds as they pass overhead seem
to testify (by their own lonesome familiarity)
to this feeling.

An Ode to the Old Type   A leg at each corner, standing strong. Deep and wide
through the heart, With tail and mane long. Back like a table broad enough to
set, Eyes bright and knowing, The wisest I've met. Quarters well filled with
strength and bone, too. Ears that say 'pony' And legs that track true. Feet round
and hard to carry a load. A foot sole that flashes When going down the road.
Hocks that are used, knees with some lift, Nostrils large and expressive A
constitution that shouts, 'Thrift!' This old type Fell Pony, tough and enduring,
Rare in the breed, I find quite alluring. For Future Generations
